Drew Carlile
I was just a high school kid with a dream of playing college baseball with no idea of how to go about achieving that goal. I had received some coaching in the past but had no real concept of the details that go into perfecting techniques, especially those around hitting and catching. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Rick Sellers in high school, which changed not only the course of my baseball career, but I can confidently say, my life.
Coming out of Colorado, with no pedigree, I was likely headed for a small junior college as a pitcher, just because I had a good arm. However, my favorite part of the game was being behind the plate and I knew that’s where I belonged. Rick taught me details I never knew about and helped transform my game. I learned not only how to catch, but also how to play the game of baseball. My swing went from a light-hitting high schooler to a middle of the order power threat on a Division 1 lineup. I would never have had these opportunities without the hard work and hours put in with Rick, paying attention to the smallest details.
Rick was a constant resource for me in high school and throughout my college career and was instrumental in getting my career off the ground. I owe a debt of gratitude for his coaching and attention to detail for helping make my dreams come true.
